4 Finished Projects for 2024

I’ve knit my first large project for 2024!

I cast on the Fever Dreams shawl in early January and took around 1 month to knit it. I loved working on this - the stitch pattern was quick to memorise and deceptively simple to create. I was a little sad to finish it but I love the finished project!

I think this design was a perfect match for the Australian-made Chromacity Collection yarn. The colour-changing nature of the yarn sings in the ‘honeycomb’ design, and as the yarn did all the hard work I wasn’t left with very many ends to weave it!

Pattern: Fever Dreams by Kate Burge and Rachel Price, available on Ravelry

I knit size Small, but don’t let the sizing fool you - I’d call it a medium sized shawl. I also knit a couple more repeats in the honeycomb section, as I loved creating them.

Yarn

Main Colour: Onion No. 4 Organic Wool + Nettles 8ply in Soft Grey, 3 x balls
Contrast: Fibre Arts Shed Chromacity Collection in Coral Sea, 3 x skeins
~ This lovely Australian made yarn was perfect for this design!

You can find the yarns I used at Say! Little Hen ~ I’ve linked to them above, or if you’d like to knit a Fever Dreams shawl of your own I’ve put together some Supply Kits.

Skill Level: Advanced beginner. Creating the honeycombs is quite simple and the stitch pattern is quick to memorise.

Other things I’ve been knitting lately include Mug Cosies and tiny Hedgehogs. These are so quick it feels a bit like cheating to count them in a project total, but I guess I can say I’ve started and completed 4 projects this year already, haha!
I revisited my Chook Chook and Marshmallow Bunny Mug Cosy designs. I tweaked the construction, adding an extra button closure for a better finish. Easter is so early this year I wanted to be organised with some knitting, and these make great little Easter gifts!
You can find the pattern here or grab a kit here.

What have you been making lately?

Anything new on your needles or hook?

Until next time, happy making!
