Here & Now

Loving // Watching the clutches of chickens grow up. At the moment I have 2 groups of 8 - a clutch from the laying flock and a newborn clutch of Silkie and Pekin bantams. They are raised by Silkie hens and are the most delightful sight to see!

Eating // Hommus on sourdough, pork stir fries made with our own meat and plenty of food from the garden

Drinking // Need I write it? Tea, as usual

Wearing // Old summer farm clothes, the practical choice for the daily chores

Feeling // Like Christmas is on the way. I always get a subconscious excited buzz at this time of year; I think it might be a hang-over from childhood and looking forward to that 6 weeks holiday from school. At any rate, I still relish the beginning of summer

Making // More squares from this book for my Spring blanket, the beginnings of a new toy pattern and more fair isle drafts

Thinking // About truly embracing each day as it comes, living in the moment and not looking so far forward and placing worries on the future we really can't control. It's harder than it sounds

Dreaming // Of picking the first of the sweet corn soon, of summer picnics to the crater lakes and a day trip to the beach

I hope your Sunday is a happy one,

PS The twin lambs in the first photo are three weeks old and still have not been named! Any suggestions? They are a boy and a girl, and their mum's name is Mabel, and their dad's name is Chilli Chops, in case that helps :-)
